The Feasting Room is a six month project encouraging Torontonians to eat the whole beast.

Every week we will be creating a new six course blind tasting menu focussing on one animal. Each week’s tasting menu will be accompanied with its own optional, ever-changing six course wine pairing.

Our food, our wine

We, at The Feasting Room, strongly believe in using the entire animal. We carefully butcher our beasts so as to get the most out of them with as little as possible going to waste. Not only does this reinforce the idea of conscientious eating but it is a good example of sustainable eating practices. It is also a great way for us to present off cuts and offal in a variety of different ways to cater to the everyday individual who might not be used to such things to begin with.

We believe the beauty behind wine is in its versatility. From the familiar classic Old World styles to the big and bold aromas of New World wine we work closely with our fantastic wine agents and Ontario wineries to bring you a very diverse selection. This allows us to show how the craft behind wine production can produce an array of incredibly different sensations and flavours that we can then pair to complement our food in the wildest ways possible.

This week’s wine list

We’ve worked together with some of the city’s top wine agents to put together a very diverse, albeit concise wine list for our first week. These consignment agents include: Rouge Et Blanc, Kylix Wines, Argentum Wine Imports, Fettah Wine Services Inc., Lexcellent Wines, Vinaio Imports Ltd. and Niagara’s very own Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery.

06/07/12 – Couple new additions to the wine list! Duca di Saragnano’s Chianti Riserva 2007 and a lovely (not too sweet, just right) dessert wine from Château Jolys in the Jurançon region of France!

07/19/12 – Now working with Appellation Wines, bringing in a young Grignolino d’Asti (Le Nocche 2011) from their rare autochthonous wine collection. Mas Fi Brut Cava coming in from Tre Amici Wines and Rouge Et Blanc just got their hands on a brand new 2010 Petit Chablis from Hervé Azo, all of which we are now carrying!

The Feasting Room

is open from Thursday to Sunday from 6:00PM ’til 10:00PM and Monday from 6:00PM until late. As we share our space with the live music venue The Orbit Room from Thursday to Sunday, the last of the food will be hitting the tables just before 10:00PM. We do not have pre-selected seating times but do bear in mind that in order to comfortably enjoy our six course tasting menu you’ll want in and around 2 hours at the table, this is why we do not take reservations past 8:00PM from Thursday to Sunday. If you’d like to come in later we invite you to come in on a Monday night as we will be serving food until last call. We do not flip tables which means that when you reserve a table it’s yours for the night. If you so choose you can even sit back after your meal and enjoy some of Toronto’s legendary live music acts with The Orbit Room!
